Morningstar article on Australian Dividend Aristocrats

I’m a bit of a Morningstar fan boy. This article I found interesting: discusses why there are no DA companies in Australia, Dividend Aristocrat being a company that has managed to raise their dividends for 25 years straight. The four reasons cited for no ASX companies making the grade:

1. Dominant sectors in Aus are cyclical.

  1. Aust have higher Div payout rates.

  2. The dominant sectors are capital intensive.

  3. Investor expectations in Aust differ to the US.

The article went on to suggest that if future dividends where a concern to Aus Investors, consider switching out of VAS into the MVW ETF (Aus equal weighted). Compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of MVW distributions has been 10.62% since 2015, where as VAS distribution over the same period was 1.15%.

Are we in the last days of ASX dividend dominance? (morningstar.com.au)

SOL PATS has raised their Dividends for 24 years with a CAGR of 9.6%.
